AMERICAN GOLDFINCH
Couldn't load pickup availability
Our friends in Iowa, New Jersey, Washington have the AMERICAN GOLDFINCH as their state bird. The male is a handsome little guy with bright yellow feathers while his female counterpart has a light dusting of yellow beneath her beak. Also known as the willow goldfinch and the eastern goldfinch, there are six different vocalizations ~ one sounds like "po-ta-to-chip". They are granivores feeding mostly on seeds like sunflower, thistle, and elm.
