THE GIVING TREE  by Shel Silverstein (1964).  Many interpretations of this children's book have caused controversy and criticism.   One writer called the book "one of the most divisive books in children's literature."  Another thought the simple book is "about a sadomasochistic relationship."  A college instructor said students felt the book 'exploited the tree'.  The book was banned from a Colorado public library in 1988 because it was interpreted as being sexist.

Whether you believe what everyone else says or not, THE GIVING TREE is a simple story with simple illustrations.  This sock set comes with a full skein of yarn plus two 20g skeins of the same yarn for accents, heels, or toes of your sock.  A silver-plated stitch marker is included with each order while supplies last.

Please allow 7 - 14 days for processing as this is a dyed-to-order colorway.

Thank you.

Washing instructions:

For best results, hand-knit items should be hand washed in tepid water and laid flat to dry. Superwash yarn CAN be washed in the machine on a gentle cycle (but not advised), then laid flat to dry.  It is recommended to wash your skein before use.  This will ensure any extra color will be rinsed out and prevent "bleeding".

Yarn dyeing is done at home in my back room and air-dried by God. We are a non-smoking home with a cat that roams around our back room and yard. He is afraid of the dyeing equipment and special care is taken so that he does not get onto the yarn - he's too old and arthritic to jump up on the table anyway.

Due to the nature of hand dyed yarns being unique, the skein you receive may vary slightly from the photo shown. If you have questions about the skein, please contact me and I will answer any questions you may have
