The sheep that grew this lovely wool live 19 miles west of us. The mill that spun the wool is 10 miles east of us. We are honored to work with the small ranch and mill building community and contributing to our local economy. Our desire is to continue to expand locally, investing in the economic growth and health of the area we started in.
For best results, handknit items should be handwashed in tepid water and laid flat to dry.
This yarn has had minimal processing - meaning you will find some vegetable matter in each skein. I just pick it out while working with the yarn if it doesn't fall out naturally. The harshest chemical used on this wool has been vinegar and a gentle cleanser. For this reason, we recommend using a wool wash such as Eucalan. Eucalan is a wool rinse containing lanolin, which helps enhance the natural luster of wool, is scented with lavender essential oil, which keeps moths away, and is biodegradable.
